Man Jailed For Threatening Wife With Dirty Pants

A man in England is facing up to six months in jail after threatening to kill his wife with a pair of soiled pants. Michael Edwards, from Leeds, made the threat during a drunken argument with his wife of 20 years, Dawn.

“I was just joking around,” Edwards told reporters after appearing in court. “I would never really hurt her. I was just mad and I wanted to scare her.”

The court did not see the humor in the situation, however, and Edwards was sentenced to six months in jail.

This is not the first time that Edwards has been in trouble with the law. In 2006, he was given a suspended sentence for assaulting his wife. He was also sentenced to community service in 2012 for criminal damage.

Dawn told reporters that she is planning to divorce her husband after 20 years of marriage. “I’ve had enough,” she said. “I’m tired of putting up with his crap. He can rot in jail for all I care.”

It’s always best to try and resolve your differences without resorting to threats of violence—especially if those threats involve soiled clothing. Unfortunately, sometimes people just don’t know when to quit, and that’s when they find themselves in hot water. Just ask Michael Edwards, who is now cooling his heels in jail after making a very ill-advised threat during a drunken argument with his wife.
